We offer a simple explanation in terms of self-duality under asymmetric orbifolds. Self-dual orbifolds also give more general identities beyond the familiar Harvey-Wu construction, which we illustrate through examples.","category":"research","comments":0,"disputed":false,"division":"physics","mentions":0,"discussed":0,"published":"2026-11-03","reactions":{}}
